SWEET SOUL
MUSIC REVUE

In 2009, an enthusiastic audience in the sold-out Mannheim Capitol celebrated the birth of a show that is all about soul: the SWEET SOUL MUSIC REVUE. The makers of the revue look back on 50 years of experience in soul music and have created a show that has now been paying tribute to the giants of black American soul music such as Otis Redding, James Brown, The Temptations, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, Gladys Knight, Sam Cooke, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and the inventor of soul, Ray Charles, for 13 years and makes the hearts of black music fans beat faster. In 2023, the SWEET SOUL MUSIC REVUE will return to stages in Germany and Europe with a new program full of legendary soul gems.

The past few years of the SWEET SOUL MUSIC REVUE have been a success story: since its premiere in March 2009, the show has been touring regularly throughout Germany and Europe. Sold-out concerts, most recently at the KKL in Lucerne, as well as enthusiastic press reviews show that the revue is in tune with the spirit of the times and the taste of the audience. In total, the SWEET SOUL MUSIC REVUE has been performed live more than 400 times in recent years. And the Soul Train is moving on and will also be stopping off at numerous stages in Germany and abroad in 2023.

A tribute show will be presented in honor of the soul labels Motown, Stax and Atlantic - a three-hour explosive mixture of emotion, rhythm, passion and joie de vivre - pure soul! The SWEET SOUL MUSIC REVUE takes the audience on an authentic musical journey "Down Funky Street, USA" of the 60s and 70s. In addition to soul classics such as "Respect", "Soul Man", "It's a Man's World", "At Last", "Midnight Train To Georgia", "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay", many other pearls of sixties and seventies soul will be presented.

The SWEET SOUL MUSIC REVUE brings soul music to life in its original soul line-up . The REVUE band - consisting of 10 top-class musicians - provides the perfect old school sound with a four-part brass section, grooving rhythm section and Hammond organ. There are also up to 10 lead vocals and special guests, including original artists from the sixties. The line-up of the SWEET SOUL MUSIC REVUE includes Jimmy James (New York City), Derrick Alexander from Detroit (Michigan), Ty Le Blanc (Louisiana), Elijah Salaah (Kansas City), Alex Hudson from Atlanta (Georgia), Daniel Stoyanov, the white "black voice" from Sophia (Bulgaria), Edward Wade from Nashville (Tennessee) and Darnita

Rogers from Atlanta (Georgia). The soloists are complemented and supported by 3 background vocals.

Ron Williams from Oakland (California) will be the host, who will also give the audience an insight into the history of soul music. The nationally known TV presenter, actor and singer will present the SWEET SOUL MUSIC
